Kirrilly c'est le nom de la petite fille de ma cousine en Australie. 

C'est un nom australien bien sûr et j'ai décidé de faire un peitit couvre-lit

pour sa naissance.

J'ai trouvé tous les tissus roses et rouges, clairs et foncés, pales et vifs dans mon panier!

Le dessous était un tissu de Laura Ashley. J'aime baucoup la bordure rayée.

 Kirrilly is the name of the grand daughter of my cousin in Australia.

I am sure it is an Australian name and I decided to make a quilt for her birth. 

I took all the pinks and reds from my stash, light and dark, pale and vibrant  and

the backing is a fabric by Laura Ashley. I really like the stripes of the border.

  J'espère que ça lui plait, et les parents aussi.

I just hope she likes it!!!

 Recémment j'étais en France et je suis retournée à mon super groupe de patchwork à Béziers. 

C'était merveilleux de passer une journée parmi copines en faisant le patchwork!! 

On nous a dit de venir avec une photo d'une vue à copier, un cutter, des tissus de couleurs correspondant

à celle de la photo, un tissu du fond, et du fils et décorations et une machine à coudre. 

  I was back in France recently and was able to return to my wonderful patchwork group in Béziers. 

We were told to come with a photo to copy, some fabric in the same colours, a piece of material for

the background, a cutter and some thread or wool to embellish the project, and a sewing machine.

 Première étape c'était de couper le tissu dans les très petits morceaux avec un cutter. 

Après on a posé le confetti sur un fond pour copier la photo et on a couvert l'ouvrage avec

un morceau de tulle noir (fourni par le club) et on a fait le sandwich avec des épingles. 

Finalement on a fait du piqué-libre par machine et voilà!!

 The first step was to cut the various colours of material into very small pieces like confetti. 

These were then placed on the background material copying the orignal photo. 

Next a piece of black net ( given by the Club) was placed and pinned on to the background

fabric  and finally a bit of free motion quilting to hold the layers together.

Voici mon ouvrage pour l'exposition à Bunbury, Western Australia. Il y a un groupe de

patchwork là-bas qui fait un challenge international tous les ans.

Le thème cette année est "Wonderland".

Ce matin on m'a dit que mon ouvrage était bien arrivé en Australie.

Je regrette que je ne peux pas être là-bas pour visiter l'exposition!!

  Well, here is my contribution for the Bunbury Patchwork Exhibition in Western Australia. 

This group has an international challenge every year and the theme this

year is "Wonderland".  This morning I heard that "My Wonderland"  had finally arrived

by post and my only regret is that I can't be there in person to visit the exhibition.

Comme ç'est pour une exposition de patchwork, j'ai décidé d'essayer toutes les

techniques possibles, appliqué à la main, paper piecing, broderie à machine,

et finalement j'ai fait le quiltage par machine. Tout pour arriver à un pays de merveille,

fait avec du tissu coloré et varié que j'adore.

As it is for an exhibition of patchwork I tried to use a variety of techniques,

hand appliqué, paper piecing, templates, machine embroidery and finally the quilting

I did by machine.  All,  in order to achieve "My Wonderland",  a creation of wonderful

fabrics full of colour and imagination.
