En ce moment c'est la mode d'utiliser le tissu qu'on trouve dans les placards,

car maintenant le coton coûte très cher, et il y a beaucoup de possibilités et

d'idées pour faire des jolis ouvrages en patch.

Ma voisine m'a donné des tissus pour faire un plaid. Les petits carrés fleuris viennent

d'une robe en tissu Liberty, et la bordure c'est des rideaux qu'elle a remplacé.

Même le bleu foncé c'était un biais qu'elle a trouvé chez elle.

At the moment it's in fashion to recycle fabric and use what one already has.

The price of has rocketed and now there are so many ideas to create objects in patchwork. 

My neighbour asked me to make a "throw" and gave me the fabric she already had.

The small squares came from a Liberty dress she had cut up, and the border was from

some old curtains.  Even the navy blue sashing was a long strip of biais she found.

  Et derrière c'est une nappe elle a trouvé dans ses tiroirs. 

Donc tout ce qu'elle a acheté c'était le tissu vert à pois. 

And the backing was an old tablecloth she found that she wasnt using. 

So all she had bought was the green spotty material.  

  J'ai découvert un site www.wornandwashedfabrics.com d'une femme Kim,

qui a trouvé des tissus de vêtements et literie en coton, qu'elle lave et qu'elle vend aux

magasins comme Liberty ainsi qu' aux expositions en Angleterre. 

Je l'ai rencontrée à une exposition "The Knitting and Stitching Show" à Londres,

où elle avait beaucoup de succès. Le tissus sont doux et les couleurs ravissantes.

I have discovered a website www.wornandwashedfabrics.com of a lady called Kim,

who has scoured charity shops and second hand clothing shops for good quality cottons

whic she washes and cuts.  These are then tied up in bundles like jelly rolls and sold in

shops e.g. Liberty and exhibitions where she has much success. 

I met Kim at the Knitting and Stitching Show in London and it is true to say that the

fabric is wonderfully soft and in such pretty pale colours.  

  En septembre je vous ai raconté un challenge que que j'ai fait,

avec mes copines de Béziers. 

En plus, j'avais expliqué que chacune, avait commencé avec un "fat" japonais.

On l'a coupé en deux et on a donné une moitié à notre copine à gauche à la table.

Jusqu'à ce que tout le monde ait huit tissus de tailles différentes.

  In September I told you about a challenge in which I took part

with my French patchwork friends from Beziers. 

It started with a fat quarter of japanese fabric which we cut in two

and then passed on one half to the person on the left at the table.

We continued doing this until all the eight fabrics had been cut in various sizes. 

  Voici l'ouvrage de Annie-Claude qui a utilisé tous les tissus en faisant

deux jolis carrés. 

Les bordures en marron et orange n'étaient pas dans le challenge. 

Annie-Claude avait des doutes qu"elle pouvait réaliser ce challenge,

mais elle est bien réussi!

Here is the work of Annie-Claude who has used all the mateirials of

the challenge in ther two squares. The border fabric was not part

of the challenge. 

Annie-Claude was not sue if she was up to doing this challenge,

but her work shows she succeded really well.

  Voici l'ouvrage de Danièle.  Encore deux carrés, mais de formes différentes.

Elle était déçue que son tissu soit trop foncé, mais elle l'a bien mélangé

avec le petit montant de tissus clair.

Here is Danièle's contribution.  She was disappointed that she ended up

with rather dark pieces of material.

But her choice of design shows she has used the pale fabric to its advantage.

  Voici Marie-Claude et sa jolie fleur. 

L'assortiment de tissu se marie très bien avec ce dessin.

Here is Marie-Claude with her beautiful flower. 

The different fabrics here work really well with this design.

  Voici Maryse et ses oiseaux. 

Elle a commencé avec son tissu du fond qui l'a inspriée pour faire des oiseaux

sur les branches.

Here is Maryse with her birds.  Her background fabric inspired

her to appliqué a branch and several different birds, using the same

contrasting fabrics.

  Et puis elle a brodé sur le tissu de fond. 

And then she embroidered over her background fabric.

  Si vous souvenez je vous ai montré déjà le coussin "cerises rouges". 

Une journée, la semaine dernière, jai decidé de faire encore deux coussins,

"myrtilles" et "fraises roses" . 

Le Premier sur l'image a fait l'bjet d'un précédent article ci-dessous

 If you remember I made the first cushion "cherry ripe" several weeks ago. 

However I just had to add two more. The one on the left I called

"blueberry pie" and the one on the right " strawberry pink". 

I found all the material in my stash, some old, some new,

and I just enjoyed putting the pretty fabric together.

  Voici "myrtilles"  qu'on peut voir assez proche. 

Les tissus viens de Provence, les états-unis, et l'angleterre,

et ils vont bien ensemble.

 My "blueberry pie" little cushion is made from fabric from Provence,

America and the UK.

Voici 'fraises roses"  et on peut reconnaitre le tissu Liberty, de Cath Kidston et Laura Ashley,

toutes deux d'Angleterre. 

If you look closely at this pink cushion you wil see fabric from Liberty,

Laura Ashley and Cath Kidston.
